Brown University is hosting an on-campus workshop in which “queer” minority participants will be helped to “work past” their sexual attraction to whites.
From the workshop description according to campusreform.org:
We find ourselves falling always for the white queers… wishing we could have more agency in the process, be more intentional about who we desire and how,” reads the official Facebook description of the event.
We are invested in generating a politics of sexuality that compels us to interrogate beauty as privilege and constructed by systems of white supremacy, ableism, capitalism, and heteronormativity…
[Hmm, that's funny—WordPress keeps telling me "heteronormativity" is misspelled. I'm sure it's a real word—maybe we need to show a little sensitivity and install the latest LGBT dictionary packs around here.]
Welp laddies, this is a doozy.
Now, I will suck the cock of anyone who calls me homophobic, but I gotta say: This is some pretty asinine, Oberlin-ass bullshit.
I understand that when you’re in a cult-like environment such as Academia, Scientology, or the LGBT Community, your surroundings can get a bit hypnotic. It’s very hard to see the real world when every human around you subscribes to a deeply militaristic set of mores and a proprietary made-up language. But guys; here’s an intervention:
Hang on, I have to go wank to the Indian on the leesh.
Back. OK, HERE’s an intervention:
Give peace a chance, guys, really; suck and let suck. C’mon; we got real problems.
