Pinky Carnage is en elusive creature who regularly disappears for months at a time buried in some bizarre project. Then, just when you think he must have become a junkie, he emerges from a pile of 80s VHS tapes with a masterpiece.
His past two projects have been a show for Adult Swim called Totally 4 Teens…
And an exercise video called Let’s Work it Out.
Both of these things took hundreds of hours to complete and have taken up pretty much all of the past five years of his life. I mean, he did some videos too and is developing a new show but if you look up recent TV Carnage projects, you’re going to get these two shows.
So, it makes perfect sense that Pinky combine the two in a new video for OFF! entitled, “Borrow and Bomb” / “I Got News for You.” Not only does he recreate his Totally 4 Teens show in a punk rock stylee but the second half of the video perfectly recreates the bizarre 80s horror show that is Let’s Work it Out. Throughout both songs Pinky laces in his trademark TV Carnage style with corny Canadian local TV and corny production. Classic Pink!
Here’s a sneak peek of his next project. It’s called “Hot Package” and it has Alan Thicke combining TV Carnage with Entertainment Tonight.

UPDATE: Pinky Carnage had nothing to do with the OFF! video. It was directed by some other dude from Toronto called Whitey McConnaughy. WTF?
I want to buy “Lets Work it Out” and try to use that as an exercise video! I wonder what I’d look like after a few months.

that vhs look is just in the air right now. i don’t think anybody can claim to own it. trash humpers used it for the entire movie. cerebral ballzy did more than one video like that. and making fun of public access television/talk shows has been a staple of comedy for years. i’m pretty sure SNL has been doing it since it started in 1975. and finding humour in exercise videos -> not as common but it’s been done more than a few times.
