Some guy I’ve never heard of is selling fancy Crass memorabilia for a lot of money today. Crass have nothing to do with it whatsoever and are “dubious.”

New York, NY 10021

UPDATE: Went to the opening ready to give him a “face full of verbal” as the Brits say, but what can you do? He’s not making Crass-inspired art and selling it as authentic for millions. He’s taking his own collection of Crass memorabilia, all of which was made available to the public, and selling it as his own — which it is. He was there when these items came out and he had the foresight to store them for 35 years. It would be nice to force him to donate to the Dial House fund but forced benevolence is for Socialists.
I talked to the curator who said they’re charging $20,000 and already have a few offers. Go figure.

consumerism and capitalism are fundamental to being punk in 2011.
