Cults are one of those Sleigh Bells type bands where a few people go nuts over how great they are and then everyone goes BANANAS trying to sign them.

Cults are one of those Sleigh Bells type bands where a few people go nuts over how great they are and then everyone goes BANANAS trying to sign them. Seeing the music industry trip over itself and try to talk cool talk to these bands is pure joy because you’re watching an industry that fucked over musicians for centuries, desperately trying to recover their losses. Ha ha.
Oh yeah, and Ian Astbury of The Cult is trying to sue them which is weird because he had no problem with Anal Cunt.

Cults are a hard band to Google but here’s their website.
Recorded at viva radio engineered by Gay Beach
Cults are great….the rest of it sucks
I knew it, they’re gonna have to change “Cults” to “Klutz”
nice music
the a&r line is gza
gay beach sucks
klutz on broadway
What’s the song between Dethtrip in Lethbridge and Young Money? Anybody got a name?
pretty song. between this cults song and julian casablancas killing it on “jimmy fallon” the other night i may have to reconsider my knee-jerk hatred of everything from brooklyn and manhattan.
I can see it now. Apple would use their song Go outside for their Ipad commercials. They will sell its portability and how easy it is to take it outside. The commercial would have hipster lite looking people using it at Mccaren park or something. All smiling and acting gay and stuff. Then theyll play this commerciall over and over until your eyes and ears bleed. Then its on to another hype band or artist.
Circle of life.
its genius’s line
oh got excited and missed fred’s comment. I am sunbathing nude dude
no! so so so so so much way better than sleigh bells. i actually don’t hate this song very much
Yeasayer “Ambling Alp” between Rural and Young Money
Im not really digging this band, especially the unfunny and nervous giggly chick…i wonder if she knows she’s seeing songs about the only girl “brian oblivion” ever truly loved.
singing* No offense to the girl in Cults, she seems like a sweet girl, but I cant wait until Annie Eversz (oblivions ex) realizes how much presence she possesses, no doubt enough to front an all girl new-age Runaways meets Patti Smith meets The Charelles group. All the while having the beauty of Bardot and and the attitude of Cherie Currie. Id dig her version of “The Curse”!
The “oblivian first love” comment is stupid…you are a loser ugly bitch whore and the singer of Cults is the only reason anyone cares about Cults you dumb shit
I love this song and cannot get it out of my head. Hopefully it will not end up as a television commercial for at least another two years.
People care? You are an outsider commenting on a blog post about people in my life. Music gets interesting when there is a history fueling it. So what was said about Cults was neither stupid nor far from the truth. Cults, all the best to you. Annie, jesus girl you are other-worldly.
Look: is it soooooo wrong of me to fancie the lead singer a just a tinie little bit?
Not even fancie. Admire is the word.
C’mon guys. Have you seen the sbtvc-radio-show-interview-video? She’s hanging out with the bad older kids and look all nervous and sexy.
I like. Right, What’s up next?
