After WWII, Southern Italians decided there was nothing for them in Sicily and got on a boat headed for here. They were farmers mostly and were known for their strength and ability to work hard. One thing they were not known for was their intellect. Two generations later they’ve somehow become even stupider than when they were back in Europe. Sixty years of cheap carbohydrates, vanity, and thinking “Books is for fags” has created the stupidest pieces of human trash, North America has to offer. Looks like Mussolini got the last laugh after all.

These people are trash – italians in NYC have this weathered “seen it all — been here from the start” look/vibe to them and all you have to do is travel 20 minutes to New Jersey to have that all blown out the window. i am from jersey and i am really embarassed
this is a pretty sympathetic and kind portrayal compared to some of the shit I’ve seen. MTV’s Real Life : The Jersey Shore episode or whatever it was called on the other hand really ratcheded up the cringe-per-minute/pathetic level.
Firstly – fucking amazing video. Spot on. Secondly – these wide-necked (va)Gino’s are not having more fun than ‘hipsters’ could ever aspire to. They are congregating with like-minded people to stoke their mutual homophobia, unresolved parent issues (have you noticed how late into their lives Italians live with their parents?), and generally soaking the shore with gel. Also, violence probably ensues often.
Honestly, I adore stereotypes but try to downplay their usage in everyday life. This is definitely an instance of Jersey living up to my mental image of ‘Jersey’. Keep that camera rolling night after night and you’d have a fantastic reality show that reminded other North Americans of their basic humanity and (gulp) superiority to these Mongoidian, booze-soaked orange people.
But seriously – crack reporting was conducted here, and bravery must’ve been required (although the camera can lend immunity).
This is why I’ll never leave New York. These guys are too much fun to fuck with and fight. Fuck Rednecks, these guys are gems.
