Hours before the Aurora massacre, Arnaud Delecolle picked up some prints for the New York Art Department show featuring local legend Kostas Seremetis.
Arnaud was happy with the way they turned out and looked forward to selling them at Kostas’ show but then 12 people were killed at a Batman movie and the image went from “neat-o” to “eerie as shit.” I have a Maker’s Mark poster that’s the same way.
Anyhizzles, Kostas’ show wraps this weekend and I highly recommend you check it out. Amidst all the prints and sculpture, he shows a Star Wars movie that’s all three movies (not the prequels) spliced into strips and projected at the same time. It’s a trip because you see stormtroopers go from panel to panel as the plot progresses. I did an interview with him that we’ll put up shortly.
The show is at

That Maker’s print is insane
Yeah the maker’s print is pretty next level. It looks like someone signed it or what have you….what does it say?
It says
“To my loyal fans at Max Fish,
Ulli [the owner] here’s to being the first in the neighborhood.
And the best!
-Bill Samuels. Pres. Maker’s”
I won it at a BINGO night there in 2000 and didn’t give a shit about it until a year later.
