Huh? What about your trust fund where your parents put aside several million dollars they didn’t need – wait, who the fuck has several million dollars they don’t need? Oh yeah, nobody. Where did this stupid trust fund myth even come from?
i don’t know, my friend’s dad is some big oil guy and she gets a fund currently worth 3.2 million when she turns 30 as long as she finishes grad school. fucked up thing was she thought he had some money, but definitely not that much, since he’s made it all since she left the house. but yeah, as a result i now hate her.
10 kitties? i agree he has nice white pants on and is looking fondly at a “whisk” sign with a cat hat on. okay ok we get it. you goy lucky on this one, haha
Dayumn – I need to find a rich parent that will help me out sometimes. I’m tired at getting laughed at by kids-who-get-their-parents-to-pay-rent bc I still live at home. Fuckers.
I know “trust fund kids”. Kids who don’t have to work, get their rent and bills paid and just get to jam at home on their ridiculously expensive guitars with ridiculously expensive gear. Or edit film with their 5000 dollar camera on a 2000 dollar laptop with 2000 dollars in programs and 2000 of extra gear. I mean, they’re clearly out there, it’s not a myth, but they’re not the majority.
Well, when your parents are paying your tuition and rent and you have a “job” for beer money – you are a trustfunder. When you move to nyc to become a photographer and you don’t have a job, yet you magically afford to live in a chinatown loft – you are a trustfunder. When your bank account is topped off every month and you’ve never personally filled out a deposit slip – you’re a trustfunder. You’ve moved to NYC, fall into the 18-25 bracket, work at a coffee shop three days a week and live in a $2k a month apartment – 90% of you are a trustfunder. It’s no myth. Why are you so against the idea that hipsters can be and are annoying. Why do you fight so hard for these kids? I don’t get it.
hutch b. said it perfectly. when people loosely throw around the word trust fund kid, they dont mean some heir to a $2B estate, they mean the kids who get to fail some classes and can afford to fuck around, the kids who’s iPhones are on a family plan, the kids that can borrow money for a down payment on an expensive shitty apartment in brooklyn, that can get bailed out of jail and afford lawyers for stupid shit they do, etc… maybe gavin was just one of these kids.. actually its very likely
i knooooww…i much prefer the kids who come to New York expecting to make something of themselves and are left bitching and moaning about “trustfunders” because, like 90% of the world, YOU DIDN’T MAKE IT. Now, stop bitching and move back to Ohio.
Uh oh. The truth finally comes out. This moniker “Trust funder” is really angry losers that gave up on living in the big city ASSUMING anyone who didn’t suffer his same fate must have fixed the books. Sorry anus, you failed.
well it just sucks to have to work so hard and not have extra time for art when those people get such an easy route and even if they do make some cool stuff it’s like, sorry i was busy working a 12 hour shift, i am 5 years behind now. it’s why the art world is so fucked.
yeah no i know a trust fund kid (at least one, they dont like to be exposed do they) he has a real trust fund. when he needs a new car he rings up the trust fund. he has to ask his parents before he spends any money, so basically he’s a whore (cue big black) and his parents are metaphorically fingering his arse-hole.
also to the kids complaing about not being able to do any art because you’re working such long hours – you dont get it and you never will. thats why artists are supposed to be so damn cool – they’re the baddest rebels in society, they live even broker than the scumbags and give less of a fuck than the criminals.
you probably just dont got it. (its about being broke as shit, falling in love with a prostitute, cutting your ear off and then blowing your brains out – all while never selling even one single painting, ie: you need giant montrous balls of meteorite..)
i’ve got a sweet trust fund, but not blowing it on stupid fucking 90 dollar hoodies like this should earn me some merit. fuck all these kids moving to nyc and then bitching about not being able to afford it. it’s like part of the entire culture these days is finding the low rent brooklyn neighborhood of the month, buying a case of pbr, and trying to tell your friends from home how ‘the city is so beautiful, man’. if you can’t afford new york, move the fuck out. and if you’re wearing this stupid fucking hoodie, you’re probably not from here anyway.
NEWS FLASH: Some people have more money than others and inheritance(both social and financial) will most likely dictate your life. History of the world, people! Ask some poor Bangladeshi ship wrecker about ‘trust fund’ kids. He’d most likely point at your wawawa-i-can’t-make-crap-art-that-no-one-will-give-a-shit-about-because-i’m-poor rich ass
I can’t afford to love NY. Talk to any artist and they’ll probably agree with you…That is if you have any artist friends. For the record, that guy designed and hand printed his own sweatshirt along with thousands of others.
headhoods: So fucking what, he knows how to operate a speedball kit you can get at any art supply source. they even come with a handy dandy instruction book.
He’s putting it out there and you are just blogging about it. You don’t think he knew you psudeo-non hipster hipsters would attack him with witty rhetoric and intellectual banter to make yourself feel like an artist? He knew you would level cynacism at him and still did it.
Just wait until they stop filling your food troughs, minions. You’ll be forced to reembrace cannibalism, at least temporarily, until the next plague emerges.
why don’t you put your speedball where your mouth is kure kure takora? or are you too busy running to the atm to cash your most recent trust fund deposit from parents? just because you see yourself as a failure doesn’t mean you have to share it.
The sad thing is, mummy and daddy aren’t pooling up a few million for junior to live off, like if he uses it unwisely it will all dry up.
They just pay all his bills forever and give him an increasingly large coke allowance. Which means they’re constantly aware of the fact that junior can’t support himself and are ok with that.
no obnoxious comments yet? guess people’s feeling are hurt haha
i have trouble affording to live in nyc. turns out all you need to do is work hard and be frugal. wahh-wahh.
i don’t know, my friend’s dad is some big oil guy and she gets a fund currently worth 3.2 million when she turns 30 as long as she finishes grad school. fucked up thing was she thought he had some money, but definitely not that much, since he’s made it all since she left the house. but yeah, as a result i now hate her.

…but he can afford to blow money on retarded silk screened hoodies?
I’m too old for nyc now.
Tears.
yet can afford that hoodie that wasn’t cheap. PFFT times TEN BILLION!
I think people say “trust fund” when they mean “rich parents who help out sometimes”, like when white people say “I’m Irish”.
Dayumn – I need to find a rich parent that will help me out sometimes. I’m tired at getting laughed at by kids-who-get-their-parents-to-pay-rent bc I still live at home. Fuckers.
@bolo I actually lol’d at that; nicely done.
so are you saying that NOBODY in nyc is rolling in the dough?
im irish
trust fund babies suck the life out of communities. and that’s a fact jack
when you’re Irish you get the best pickup line in the world. “hey baby, do have any Irish in you?” “no.” “would you like some?”
that line works like a charm. a lucky charm even!
so move to Binghamton, fatty
commodities, you filthy poors. now give me your girl.

I just want to thrust a knife into this guy’s chest multiple times. I think it’d be fun.
ny is over hyped , when r you all gonna get over it

I really do recommend shooting your brains method out rather than into your chest. I took two whole days to die.
Everyone should move to DC.
Washington DC is way better than New York city.
who the fuck has several million dollars they dont’ need?
who the fuck needs several million dollars?
i’ve got a sweet trust fund, but not blowing it on stupid fucking 90 dollar hoodies like this should earn me some merit. fuck all these kids moving to nyc and then bitching about not being able to afford it. it’s like part of the entire culture these days is finding the low rent brooklyn neighborhood of the month, buying a case of pbr, and trying to tell your friends from home how ‘the city is so beautiful, man’. if you can’t afford new york, move the fuck out. and if you’re wearing this stupid fucking hoodie, you’re probably not from here anyway.
Hey Poop.
You’re a perfect example of things about New York that suck.
How does it feel to be walking irony?
not too bad.
DC sucks!
DC sucks balls! Just check the site fro proof
Cool sweatshirt. In London you can squat=live for free in a building you take over.
DC has way more movies filmed there than NY city because everyone likes it better.
Also, it has much better public transportation and the people are way more attractive.
Samuel Jackson is from DC. Nuff said.

Move to Portland then!
I can’t afford to love NY. Talk to any artist and they’ll probably agree with you…That is if you have any artist friends. For the record, that guy designed and hand printed his own sweatshirt along with thousands of others.
headhoods: So fucking what, he knows how to operate a speedball kit you can get at any art supply source. they even come with a handy dandy instruction book.
holy fuck you guys are crusty.
Thanks for the pointer Kure Kure. Does running an international silkscreen line single handedly come with a handy dandy instruction book too?
~HeadHoods
yeah. does it come with a instruction book on how to suck money from trust fund babies. i think not
Oh sshhhhhhh.
SAD KITTEH on the side of his hood!!
BIG UP.
He’s putting it out there and you are just blogging about it. You don’t think he knew you psudeo-non hipster hipsters would attack him with witty rhetoric and intellectual banter to make yourself feel like an artist? He knew you would level cynacism at him and still did it.
only a new yorker would assume that a trust fund is “several million dollars” because that’s how much is costs to live in New york for a month.
Just wait until they stop filling your food troughs, minions. You’ll be forced to reembrace cannibalism, at least temporarily, until the next plague emerges.

why is nobody talking about the shitty kerning/leading here? seriously folks.
nashville, will you ask grandma why she chose lucida, verdana when you see her next?
so, trustfunders are either all good or all bad – oooh, i see – no inbetweensies. some of you guys so smawt.
